Just before you get to the halfway town of Squamish, you can view the magnificent Shannon Falls right beside the road, and then look up in awe at the world famous rock climbing mountain called 'The Chief'.
Depending on the time of year, it's worth stopping for a view of
bald eagles in Brackendale which is just north of the town. Once in
Whistler, you might choose to take a day off from skiing or
golfing, and take a drive to Pemberton, approximately 25 minutes'
drive north. The views and scenery are very different from
Whistler, and well worth a visit.

Travel Tips
Rent a car just for the drive to Whistler and back, or
rent one during your stay. (Note that many Whistler
accommodation providers and hotels charge extra for parking). Most
car rentals include unlimited mileage, and ski racks and child
seats are available upon request.
Be sure to ask about a One Way Round Trip which allows you the
vehicle for a 24 hours rental in each direction from Vancouver
International Airport (YVR) or Sea-Tac Airport (SEA) to Whistler
and return, but not to use while you are in Whistler. It's a great
way to get to and from the resort, but not have to pay for parking.
