Planning Your Perfect Creekside Ski Day

Creekside Village Summer

Whistler Creekside — A Day in the Life

Whistler Creekside offers everything for the person who wants to experience Whistler authentically.

We’ve thought long and hard about what could make for a perfect ski day starting and ending in Creekside, including all the great things to do in our area.

Whistler Blackcomb is a massive mountain, with hidden runs and more dining options than you can probably imagine. As you know, the story of Whistler Mountain began at Creekside, so here’s to an original classic ski day.

Pre-planning

Dinner Reservations: Make reservations for tonight at Rim Rock. The classic Creekside dining experience, you’ll want to make sure to plan for this ahead of time. We suggest the second seating to allow time to linger over your meal. You don’t want to be in a rush today.

Grocery Delivery from Creekside Market: Use this service to make sure and stock up on the basics. Cream for your coffee, muffins and small snacks if you need them. You’ll be eating out for most of the day today, but if you want fresh veggies to munch on or other snacks, the Creekside Market will deliver. Order online.

Morning

Legends Whistler is known for having excellent coffee in room, so get that brewing as soon as you wake up. Jump in the shower, grab a cup of joe, get dressed and you’re ready.

Take the gondola up and switch to the Big Red Express to continue on to Whistler Peak. The Big Red Express is a high speed quad chair that will get you to the peak in 15 minutes. Enjoy the view!

So now you are at the top of Whistler Mountain. Take a moment to look around you. You may have been here before or this may be your first time. In either case, today you are going to take some time to notice what is around you. Spectacular. For your day on the mountain, Whistler Blackcomb has done that part for us.

They have created a series of day plans for you to try. Take a look at these, and see which one suits you today.

Noon

For lunch, we’d like to suggest a trip across the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola over to Blackcomb’s Rendezvous. A classic ski lodge for a classic ski day. Enjoy.

Afternoon

Finally, at the end of your day, if you’re up for it, take the Dave Murray Downhill. CNN rated this run as the second best ski run in the world, so there must be something right about it. It’s a black diamond run, so if you can’t handle it, there’s no shame in taking an intermediate or beginner run down to Creekside. But if you are up for it, it’s the Dave Murray Downhill, baby!

In case you are unaware of the history, The Dave Murray Downhill is where the World Cup Downhill and Super-G races from 1993 to 1995 took place and it was also the run used in the 2010 Winter Olympics. We must all know that the Dave Murray Downhill was named after a former Canadian ski team member and Whistler's director of skiing. It is described by CNN as "Steep, fast and spectacular"

Hopefully you’re tired. But it’s time for après, so...get yourself to the most authentic après in North America: Dusty’s Bar & BBQ. Order a Caesar and a plate of nachos. The rest is up to you.

Evening

You’ll need to return to your suite for a quick shower and to dress for dinner. Don’t worry. You can dress fancy or fairly casual. The Rimrock Cafe Whistler is all about excellent food and service, but in a very casual, cozy atmosphere. Enjoy your dinner, and linger as long as you want. Night You’ve hopefully lingered over your dinner at Rimrock, so we suggest heading home afterward to a good night’s sleep.
