All-terrain vehicles (ATV) also known as quads, quad bikes or four-wheelers, are used in Whistler as a means of adventure! There are 2 companies in Whistler that offer ATV tours, both with tours for varying levels of difficulty and adventure. You can rip along dirt roads, ride singletrack trails through old growth forests, ride up Blackcomb Mountain for a delicious BBQ Salmon Bake, access the high alpine for amazing views and much more.

Whistler ATV Companies

Whistler ATV operates 5 tours in the Brandywine Valley, just 10 minutes south of Whistler. Their tours include:

Easy Rider Tour - with gently graded forest trails perfect for beginners and families looking for a slower pace (2 hours).

Bushwacker Tour – venture deep into the valley for breathtaking views and ride upon remote mountain lakes. On this tour, there will be a variety of terrain from single track boulder trails to wide forest trails (2 hours).

Top of the World Tour – as the name hints venture to the top! Reaching an evaluation of 5000 feet, giving spectacular views across the valley of Whistler, Blackcomb, Black Tusk and beyond. Only single riders allowed on this tour (3 hours).

Picnic Tour - navigate your way into deep coastal forests, with great viewpoints along the way. Then enjoy a picnic lunch by the water. Ideal for groups, families and those wanting to combine a thrilling ride with a delicious picnic (3 hours).

Backcountry BBQ Tour - available at their remote log cabin for groups of 6 or more (3 hours).

 

Canadian Wilderness Adventures operates 2 tours on Blackcomb Mountain and 2 tours in the Callaghan Valley.

Blackcomb Mountain Tours:

Mountain Explorer ATV Tour – a mix of exploring, sightseeing and adventure. Explore a network of wide mountain trails climbing to Blackcomb’s beautiful alpine. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Whistler Valley and snow capped peaks of the Coast Mountain Range (2 hours).

Whistler ATV Adventure Salmon Bake by ATV – Ride up to the Crystal hut at 6000 feet on Blackcomb Mountain and enjoy a delicious salmon bake dinner on the most incredible patio in all of Whistler. Enjoy live entertainment as the chef prepares a Pacific Coast classic including cedar-planked, maple glazed wild BC Salmon, local vegetables, fresh salads and a delicious dessert. Callaghan Valley Tours:

Call of the Wild ATV Tour – Explore 4km of single track trails and tackle the rugged natural terrain of the Callaghan Valley. See old growth forest and the NorthAir historical gold mine site (3 hours).

Wild Wild West ATV Tour
– Experience the rugged terrain of the Callaghan Valley, along Whistler’s longest single track ATV trail. Travel along forested trails, past pristine lakes, up the challenging Staircase Trail, across narrow bridges and through natural ATV playgrounds (4 hours).

ATV Trip 3

Both companies ATV’s are equipped with automatic transmissions and are fairly easy to operate. Their knowledgeable guides provide instructions and tips at the start of the tour to make sure everyone knows what they are doing. To drive the ATV, you must possess a valid driver’s license and age restrictions do apply. All tours operate rain or shine. Make sure to wear long pants and closed toes shoes and bring extra layers to stay warm at higher elevations.
