Whistler Mountain Opens Five Days Early!
Well, the anticipation for ski season to start in Whistler is finally over because Whistler Mountain opened today! Thanks to low temperatures and amazing snow conditions in the past several days Whistler has opened five days ahead of schedule, on November 17th.
Starting today there will be five lifts in operation for skiers and boarders to take up the slopes:
- Whistler Village Gondola
- Creekside Gondola
- Emerald Express
- Big Red Express
- Franz’s Chair
These five runs give riders access to over 600 acres of terrain, 20 runs, and a snow base of one-metre at Pig Alley weather station already! And if this news isn’t good enough already, it’s time to start waxing those skis and tightening your bindings because Blackcomb Mountain will be opening, as scheduled, on Thursday, November 23rd.
